The Special Commission on Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance was formed by the Senate President in April 2004. The Commission is to address issues concerning the rising costs and decreasing availability of medical malpractice insurance, while ensuring that the rights of victims are protected and Marylanders continue to have access to safe and affordable healthcare.
