There are two different ways to search the Manual. The Infoseek search is the most accurate and fastest, but does not capture all documents on the site. The Infoseek search index is updated monthly. The HTDIG search is slightly slower, but captures all documents. It is updated daily.
Both engines support phrase search using quotes. For searches without quotes, Infoseek defaults to matching any term, while HTDIG defaults to searching all terms. To force inclusion in Infoseek, add a "+" symbol to the search term (without quotes). The search index for both engines is approximately 3,500 pages.
