Yale University, B.A., 1947 (Phi Beta Kappa); Columbia University Law School, LL.B., 1950. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1950. Member, American and Maryland State Bar Associations; Baltimore City Bar Association (grievance committee, 1960-62); American Bar Foundation; American Judicature Society; Maritime Law Association. President, District Judges Association of the Fourth Circuit, 1988-90. Member, Maryland Club; Elkridge Club; Yale Club of New York City; Fishers Island Club; Lawyers' Round Table.
